I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:8 Why do we want to adopt? To put it simply, we just want to be a mom and dad and to share our home and our lives with our children. At this point in our lives. we feel it would be better for us to adopt two children of the same family. We believe that families created by adoption are special and should be honored. Our children will always know their adoption stories and the wonderful way we became a family. We will raise our children the same we were were raised: a positive outlook on life, lots of encouragement, sense of responsibility, and lots of love and trust in our faith.
And besides...our two cats Missy and Kipper need to be put in their place by a couple of little ones. They just have it too easy, even for cats! Why Ukraine? To adopt children from Ukraine would be very special given Donna's Ukrainian heritage, and how Murray has been adopted into the culture. The Ukrainian community in Saskatoon is perhaps the city's largest and most active cultural group. There are many opportunities for our children to take part and maintain their Ukrainian heritage--church, school, dance groups, choirs, and with so many of our family and friends.
Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth. Isaiah 43: 5-6
